#4 The Light That Shines Through
This is the one track i’ve written so far that I think is starting to sound a bit more like ‘me’. I’m not saying you can’t compare it to anyone else because you probably can, but it’s a sound that’s more focused and more awesome. Well I like it anyway…

This track I really like, it was created coming out of me experimenting with recording audio into ableton.
it sort of starts out dub, moves into jazz/funk then crescendos into something that’s funky and dance-y and features a guitar lead line that I’m really happy with.
The guitar was my 08 USA strat through my custom matamp, recorded with an sm58. There are 3 parts a doubled up...

I thought it would be cool to delve a little into how I’ve created some of the songs I’ve been writing. So far these tunes are numbered in they order they have been written, but I’m only going to bother writing about them when they’re in a state where I’m moderatley happy with the arrangement and mix etc.

jammers and afterthoughts
ableton and a mic are useful for microkorg/guitar jams with dan such as I had this bank holiday monday. Good times, good tunes, good shisha, beers, fish and chips and stewart lee. A pleasant day and definitely some ideas that can be worked on although I think we need to kill whatever is inside us that creates crap that sounds like pendulum, or at least have the skills to bend it to something more...
